Define phototropism. Which hormone is responsible for it? How?

The growth movement of plants induced by the stimulus of light is called phototropism.

Auxin's hormone is responsible for it. A high amount of Auxins is present in shady or dark half region of the shoot apex which causes high growth and turns the plant towards light source.
