With the progress of human Civilizations there has developed an artificial environment. Man is the maker of such an artificial environment because civilizations is created and controlled by man. Civilization, as one realises it, includes tall buildings, the bee-lines of cars and bikes flying of superfast aeroplanes, increase in food production and crops and other modern amenities of life. The industries and the automobiles of various kinds are there behind such things. The chemicals and other materials are also parts of civilization. Power which is essential for operating industries is generated mostly by fossil fuels such as coal and petrolium oil. Burning fossil fuel ejects several injurious gasses, dust and smoke that pollute air. Disposal of sewage from towns and cities and industrial effluents from factories generally pollute water and soil.
The chemical fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides and herbicedes also contribute to the polluting the environment. The large number of cars and other automobiles also pollute the environment. Besides, forests all over the world are destroyed by the ever increasing population. All such activities carried on in the name of civilization have polluted the environment.
